DeSantis Refuses to Support Trump if Trump is GOP Nominee
National File ^ | June 22, 2023 | CHARLES DOWNS

Ungrateful Ron DeSantis wouldn't be the Governor of Florida without Trump's endorsement...

On Thursday, Ron DeSantis refused to commit to supporting 45th President Donald Trump if he is the GOP Presidential nominee. Key DeSantis Advisor Paul Ryan previously stated he would not attend the GOP Convention if Trump is the nominee. DeSantis continues to follow the Paul Ryan Playbook.

A reporter asked DeSantis if he would support Trump as the GOP nominee.

DeSantis responded, “So what I would say is this, um when you are saying Cuomo did better on COVID than Florida did, you are revealing yourself to just be full of it.”

DeSantis made these comments despite the fact that during the height of the Covid lockdowns, the Florida Governor ordered armed checkpoints on the Florida-Alabama state line.

Florida reopened around the same time other red state governors began to reopen their states. By May 2020, there was liberal outrage that Missouri allowed massive Memorial Day parties during the “pandemic.” Trump never criticized Missouri Governor Parson for having his state open in May 2020 or any other Governor who opened their state around that time.

"I can't enforce something that's just not a law."

Laura Loomer brought up a strong point that earlier in the year, the GOP said they would require candidates to sign a loyalty pledge committing their support to the 2024 GOP nominee. Loomer tweeted, “Hey @GOPChairwoman under your loyalty oath pledge that you’re requiring for the 2023-2024 GOP debates, doesn’t this disqualify
@RonDeSantis? He just refused, on video, to support Donald Trump if Trump is the GOP nominee for 2024. How will you hold @RonDeSantis accountable?”

Earlier this year, National File reported that Paul Ryan said he will not attend the 2024 GOP Convention in his home state of Wisconsin if Trump is the nominee. It seems Ron DeSantis is following Paul Ryan’s lead on all things Trump.

You want Trump to give up and let the corruption win and continue. Have you ever fought for something? And was told wasnt worth it..

DeSantis is too young to fight this. He already has given some leeway to old establishment.

What i liked about DeSantis, he took by running against Trump.

You all see the crowds that come to Trump rallies. You all see his poll numbers go up when attacked. There was no need to run this election. There is no one else who would fire them all. They should be speaking out for Trump..united with him.

Loyalty and trust.. thats the way to win.

No need to speak against Trump...it makes you sound young and weak.. no fight.

DeSantis got some spectacularly bad advice from his advisors.
The sobering part of the tale is he didn’t have the intellectual fortitude to reject it. He has done himself some heavy and lasting damage. It won’t be easy for him to gain a national foothold now.

Thanks. In these political times, it is hard to separate facts from fiction. In my opinion, it is better to stick with verifiable facts and verifiable quotes in context. It is hard to do.

No, Trump should step aside. It is beyond pathetic that he and supporters think that DeSantis or anyone owes him anything and should let him run and lose again. This is not the mafia and he is not the Mafia Don. We need a winner in 2024, not a whiny serial loser that is such a drama queen.

Us Floridians didn’t want any sick New Yorkers bring their pestilence down here. The state was unanimous in it’s support of DeSantis.... not draconian.....

Dude’s got a tin ear when it comes to listening to the political street smarts and seems to have little comprehension of the Trump phenomenon.

He’s looking more and more like Jeb Bush.

I thought DeSantis was acting pretty good with the rivalry between him and President Trump.

I must admit lately, I think he is trying to tell us that he IS NOTHING LIKE TRUMP.

HE HAS MADE A FEW MISTAKES IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS.

THAT MAKES ME DECIDE NEVER TO SUPPORT DESANTIS IN THE FUTURE.
AND THAT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM? He is making more mistakes than scores. SMH

ROFL! Good one. DeSantisGate. “Headed down. Submerge! Submerge!”

Wreck exploration indeed.

In USN it’s actually “Dive! Dive!” though. Or at least it used to be.
