Titan sub debris field: Parts of missing sub's cover found, expert says
BBC ^ | 6.22.2023

Debris has been found in the search for the missing Titan submersible, reportedly including parts of its outside cover. Dive expert David Mearns told the BBC the president of the Explorers Club - which is connected to the diving and rescue community - says the debris includes "a landing frame and a rear cover from the submersible". The US Coast Guard earlier confirmed a "debris field" had been found within the search area. It was located by a remote-controlled underwater search vehicle (ROV) near the wreck of the Titanic. A US Coast Guard news conference is scheduled for 1500 EST (1900 GMT) on Thursday afternoon. The Titan vessel went missing in a remote area of the North Atlantic on Sunday with a four-day oxygen supply for its crew of five.

Some experts have speculated that it could have suffered a catastrophic implosion as a result of a hull failure. The minivan-sized submersible was owned and operated by the private company OceanGate Expeditions. The firm's co-founder, Guillermo Söhnlein, told the BBC that he believes there may have been an "instantaneous implosion" of the craft. "If that's what happened, that's what would have happened four days ago," he said.

It wasn’t complacency. It was PRIDE. They thought they were the pinnacle of underwater design tech. Bragged about it. Nothing could go wrong. Prideful attitude all over. Don’t even need to hire experienced submariners. Just drive it with this gaming wireless joystick. Man you should be inspired by us.

Lotsa coincidences with the Titanic. Even the craft name was Titan, no coincidence to Titanic.

The power of the minorities was created and maintained by white liberals in the media and schools. Some of the indoctrinated will wake up, most won’t.
You’re right, the election will leave a good idea of what we have left of the Republic.

Its hardly a tourist attraction.

Should ground zero be a tourist attrsction? They hawk a hell of alot more merchandise there than anyone does for the Titanic.

Viewing the shipwreck isnt the problem. The problem is with a company that skipped safety and testing that all the other companies that dive to wrecks, complete. Be upset zt the proper thing here.

Or you need to stop visiting all historical sites where people have died. No more Pearl Harbor visits, no more battlefield visits, no more Twin Towers memorial visits, no Flight 93 memorial visits, they hawk wares there for people to scarf up.

The front viewport was also the entry/exit for the vessel. Bolted on for the outside, so once in, you’re not getting out on your own.

My gut says never enter a craft like that.

It doesn’t help that its tube walls were supposed to be 7” thick, yet turned out to be only 5” thick.

My understanding is they were dead in two seconds. When the Scorpion sank I read they calculated the implosion destroyed the entire sub and killed all on board in 56 seconds.

“The irony is he himself was an old white guy. And piloting the craft he designed but skipped doing some deep depth tests. So....”

Dude was ironied to death.
There’s just layers and layers of irony in this story, aren’t there.

DAYUM!!!!! That was only 135 PSI. 6,000 PSI wouldn’t leave much of the skeleton.

:)

As Steve Harvey said to Jerry Seinfeld, “As comedians, when a tragedy occurs, within a day, you know, we have the jokes. We have them. We can’t SAY them. We’d be crucified. But we got the jokes. We got ‘em.”

First opening statement: “I am so glad that did not happen to me when I went down there.”

Of course they didn’t cut corners on safety and design testing.

Their bodies would be instantly turned into pate, and liquidized to float away in the current. By now, a tiny amount of them could be 200 miles away.
