I'm trying to figure out the issue here. The donation was to the Governor's mansion, not to DeSantis. And it is apparently properly documented. What's the problem here other than a low information writer on FR trying to make an issue out of nothing?

And separately, about China, instead of tariffs, maybe DeSantis has another approach? Tariffs are but one approach. Personally, I'd say cut off all trade, cold turkey, and give tax breaks to US companies restoring manufacturing here in the US. Maybe do same south of the border if those same companies recruit Mexicans in the US to go south for that work. Lots of things we can do to find non-Chinese sources for products.
