He gave specifics, such as computer chips, but I was listening while driving, so I didn't get the entire list of examples.

His point was that the U.S. is too dependent on China at present, to be too demanding, before we have alternate sources. AND we should be doing all we can to encourage companies to manufacture here.

And raising the cost of them manufacturing overseas is the single biggest thing you can do to motivate them to onshore, and the fastes most effective ways to increase their cost of offshoring is to implement tariffs.
