British singer Elton John has criticized anti-LGBTQ+ laws in the United States, saying that “it’s all going pear-shaped in America.”
“We seem to be going backwards. And that spreads. It’s like a virus that the LGBTQ+ movement is suffering,” the Grammy-winning singer said in an interview with the United Kingdom’s Radio Times.
John, 76, singled out “laws enacted in Florida” as “disgraceful,” adding: “It’s a growing swell of anger and homophobia that’s around America.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed a slate of new anti-LGBTQ+ laws last month that will take effect July 1. Doctors will be allowed to deny patients care based on their moral beliefs, while the use of preferred pronouns will be banned in public schools. A law that prohibits gender-affirming health care for transgender people under the age of 18 is already being enforced, The Washington Post reported earlier this month.
John has less than a month left of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, the star’s final farewell before he steps back from the limelight to spend more time with his family, including his sons, ages 10 and 12. The farewell tour was meant to end in 2021 but was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic and hip surgery he had in 2021.

I really never bought into the whole Elton John scene, I was never a fan of his music, I never purchased any of his albums or releases, and I have found myself in the past changing the radio station when one of his songs comes on. I just don’t care for the message. Nothing personal but it’s all media hype and “that star maker machinery behind the popular song.” Not to mention social engineering.
Just to be clear he’s not the only artist that I changed the radio station when their songs came on. I had an interesting experience commuting one day and an Eagles song came on and I changed the channel and there was another Eagle song on that channel and then I changed the channel again and that was another Eagle song on that channel. That was a clear demonstration of the popular music machine in action. I put a Clifford Brown cd in and enjoyed the rest of the commute. I don’t normally listen to formatted FM radio stations but I did need some commuting info, so the first 15-20 minutes of my ride was trying to get traffic reports cuz I had three peninsulas to cross and a bridge tunnel before I got to my destination. It was a 60 mile ride one way, I hated that job.

I’m sure he’s getting a selective take on what’s going on in the US. I’m pretty sure the family is living in the UK and not in America although he’s had homes in Atlanta, Los Angeles and elsewhere.
What John , and a great many gays , don’t seem to want to understand is that the vast majority of normal people are completely sickened by the butt bandit buggery , which is what homosexuality is all about .
