So I know as much or more about gangs and the behavior of gangs than you do. Yes, you might have been a landlord in the hood, but you didn’t actually live there did you? Maybe that was a way to assuage your “white guilt”. You’re truly a liberal at heart, playing Conservative.
I am castigated similarly but, I don’t let it steal from me moral truth or good will. As a police officer I’m sure you can appreciate the risks of taking 9n the gangs and other bad guys. And, I respect and admire your courage. You’re right I did not live in my apartment complexes. I was able to go home to my young family in a nice neighborhood. But, during many periods I had to take precautions on my drives around the city. I didn’t have the benefit 9f a police force at my side. There were periods of times I carried a gun, and I had to beware of my surroundings always.
Let me be clear, I don’t like gangs. I’ve always felt a good solution was to gather them in a big stadium or field letting them bring their guns and 9ffer ten million dollars to the last man alive. Give him the ten million then shoot him,. Problem solved.
The 8ssue here is those who take advantage of these kinds of discussions to spew their racism. I will never back down from racists of any stripe...so, I hope you can separate out the difference between bad guys and black youths....
