Supposed to and what is are worlds apart and always will be!
Also Constitutionally there is no popular direct election of the president but there is!
They’re trying to compare DeSantos to the Trump camp...lol
That not worky Latranny....Get real...
If Jackson’s his hero he must have not read the chapter on spending.
Good points!
Job security needs to go away. Without Civil Service job security there is not the incentive to build power for the office and by extension for the bureaucracy.
As a former Civil service worker and later non union part of management I HOPE THEY SUCCEED!
The rule of thumb was to never pick a VP that would outshine you and the choice of Sarah Palin by McCain proved that completely. However DeSantis as VP is likely a good choice. No one can out shine Trump. Ever. DeSantis knows his place in the Chain of Command and would likely do exactly as he is told by his Commander, should he be asked to step into the boss’s shoes, he’d do his best to maintain the mission. Trump and the people of the United States could do worse than DeSantis as VP. Excluding Trump at the top of the ticket I would probably go with DeSantis. At least he was never a Senator and isn’t a clown as Governor. Governor make good Presidents, (okay, excluding Carter) and Senators make terrible Presidents (see Barry Odumbo and Joe Hiden).
I would also add that I would tell the states (which are already “legalizing” drugs (like Marijuana) on their own) that they have one year to set their own list of banned drugs, and set up their own DEA. The remainder of the Federal DEA would only involve drugs in interstate transactions (transporting accross state lines IF it was “federally” banned or banned by the state being transported to). All other drug enforcements would be handled by the states. Outisde of that there would be no federal laws concerning mere possession or use. The states are already in the business of “liberalizing” state laws on that one matter and the Federal government should step out of it and let them handle such cases all on their own.
Added topic “Editorial” which I think is more accurate than “Front Page News.”
The Deep state will not permit this—they will have a coup first.
Trump and DeSantis Are on a Mission to Destroy the Civil ServiceToo late. It's happening from within.
I agree with your concept Reily. Originally, in the 78 law, the IGs were going to report directly to Congress but the Executive, Carter’s admin, disagreed with that so they got the reports to agency head with a go around in significant matters. My recall of the go around being used less than dozen times.
Most of the original Law established IGs were kick ass guys. As time went on, the politically savy mostly won out IMO.
The whole article is a lie. It is so slanted you need to lie on your side to read it. Appears to be written by a federal employees union steward or even higher up the food chain. Whatever the position nothing but a lackey.
Trump’s executive order was so that he could actually fire the drones that weren’t doing their jobs. It of course had nothing to do with creating a spoils system for “his people”. I sure didn’t see any of “his people” being very loyal to him and still don’t. With friends like his, who needs enemies?
I have posted in these pages before that my late Father was a gooberment employee for about 40 years. I can remember when the union came to town. He was required to provide the union steward an office space so he put him in a cyclone fenced space used to keep the chainsaws and such. It fit the requirement of secure and dedicated.
From that point of the union invasion it became a much less place to work.
About time. It’s not a service. It’s a club of ripoff artist that provides minimal service at best.
Agree completely!
You’re behind the times on #2.
Since 1985 their primary retirement is from a 401K. They still get a small annuity based on time served.
According to the inflation calculator...
...$18,000 in 1968 is equal to $157,307 today.
As Ronald Reagan said, “Government is not the solution, Government is the problem.”
If one wants to solve the government spending problem, if one wants to solve the problems of government over regulation, then reducing the number of people in civil service is a viable goal.
And the problem is?🤨
