As soon as the federal indictment of President Trump was unsealed, we were treated to stories featuring photos of “boxes of documents” stored in various rooms at Mar-a-Lago — including boxes in places like on the stage in the White and Gold Ballroom, and even in a bathroom:
Like the photos from the raid showing classified documents splayed out on the floor, these photos created a certain impression with the public. Just look at how many boxes there are! Look where they were put! Dozens of boxes all over the place, where anyone could get them.
But as Newsmax host Greg Kelly pointed out, it’s “a scam” that’s poisoning the public’s perception of Donald Trump in this case. Why? Because, as Kelly noted, the actual number of classified documents that were found at Mar-a-Lago could fit into one single box, with ample room to spare.
“You don’t have to be a lawyer to look at this and know that it’s a scam,” Kelly said. “Number one, in that indictment, they put some pictures in the indictment to scare us. Ooh, look at all these boxes. The classified documents in the boxes. These pictures are actually in the indictment, and there are dozens and dozens of boxes.”
He continued, “So I went through the indictment and saw that how many documents, classified documents, did the FBI actually recover? 102.”
Kelly then pulled out a box like the ones in the photos. “So, everybody, I got a box right here, alright? This is one box.” He then showed an intact full ream of paper — 500 pages — plus another 100 sheets of loose pages to represent the actual classified documents that were found. They didn’t even come close to filling a single box.

This could be a central part of how this case plays out, but it's far from certain that Trump didn't turn that offer down. He has been extremely protective of "his boxes" so there is a good possibility he just wanted them under his control, in his house.
It's well documented the cameras were on, on the Trump family was watching the action live from New York. He's threatened to release the tapes several times, but still hasn't for some reason.

A LOT of what Patel says these days is turning out to be incorrect. Do your own research, but it appears he's actually only batting about .500 anymore. Which is too bad, I used to follow him closely.
All correct, while the President is in office.
The deep state is trying to claim they have the authority, over the elected head of their own branch of government, to determine the disposition and use of those same documents.
They do, once he is no longer in office. A former President is only allowed absolute autonomy over "personal documents" and that definition is narrow, and clearly spelled out in the Presidential Records Act. Read it, you may be surprised it doesn't say what you've been told it does.
But if you believe Trump has full authority over all these documents, why do you think he kept turning them in, when the Archives were first asking for them back?
“...it’s far from certain that Trump didn’t turn that offer down.”
I’ve heard Trump say several times that the National Archives didn’t show any interest in what he was taking. He said the boxes were stacked up in the driveway for hours for anyone to see, and they never came over to look into the situation. Given the fact that the NA has been politicized to the left, I still believe it was a setup.
I hope that is the case.
Some have suggested that the feds wanted them turned off.
Time will tell.
Re: Were they actually classified or just still marked classified after being declassified? Take the time to watch Robert Barnes eviscerate this bullschiff indictment and spend less time watching the media wing of the Demoncrat party defend this political hit job.
