Not in the United States as the law against slander and libel is currently practiced. Anyone who is a ‘public figure’ has virtually no chance of prevailing in such a suit no matter how outrageous the lie. The only reason Sandmann was able to prevail in some, but not most, of his lawsuits against the media, is because wasn’t (at the time) a public figure.
