These numbers are shockingly lower than I’d expect. But there’s something called contrarianism where if someone says, say, “this is blue,” a contrarian will insist it’s yellow. Maybe contrarianism is more common than I expected. The thing is, in the absence of someone saying “it’s blue” the contrarian will, in the privacy of his mind admit it’s blue. Maybe that’s why the numbers aren’t higher?
It’s more that people don’t understand that “hormone therapy” is sterilization and has all those nasty side effects and also saying “transition” for some being polled don’t understand that means “cutting off the vulva or the willy”

I don’t think the conservative media has done a good job of showing the ILL-consequences of hormone therapy, not to mention what the surgeries actually entail & the life-long repercussions of them. We’ve had some young people who went thru it trying to let people know, but by & large, folks don’t realize how awful this stuff is.
