He’s right. If Trump took a document, that he did not declassify, he’s hooped. Ibdon’t know the penalty for having in possession a declassified document, but he will be hit with the max on every conviction.
If he goes to jail, don’t bother voting.
Write in Trump.
“If he goes to jail, don’t bother voting.”
Playing stompy feet and end up with an old guy with dementia. And even worse, Kamala. Not to mention, possible Supreme Court vacancies.
Yes, don’t vote. Makes perfect sense.
Whether or not Trump at that time believed the document was classified doesn’t negate the provisions of the Presidential Records Act, which states any record a setting president takes with him when he leaves office is presumed to be declassified. A general clause does not control a specific clause.
Wrong. The Presidential Records act allows Trump to hold and move classified information. There is no criminal penalties associated with the Act. Trump has a SCIF, paid/cleared staff, and 24 hour USSS protection on his person and residence.
Former Presidents are allowed to review their papers at their leisure in preparation for their Presidential libraries. Historically, there have been disagreements between the National Archives and former Presidents. The NA complained or were invited to complain to the WH. Biden/Garland turned it into a criminal case including a raid on MAL.
Real objective: Confiscate the declassified Crossfire Hurricane records.
The indictment is under the retention of military documents by subordinates section of the act. The act lays out the requirements to seek consent from one’s superior. The Commander in Chief has no superior officer. How can this apply to him?
This brings it back to the national records act which is a civil violation.
For me the real puzzling part is the investigation was done entirely in DC with an Obama judge. Many bench rulings only went in one direction. Then a summary was read to a Miami grand jury for the indictment.
Seems like a lot of purposely scattered puzzle pieces.

Bad advice. It would be a reason to crawl over broken glass to vote...
No, these are President Trump’s personal presidential records so he is entitled to have them. It really was stupid of him talk about it - not because he did aything wrong, but because he gave his opponents a sound bite that they can use against him
The quotes from trump do not admit that he never declassified the document.
“If Trump took a document, that he did not declassify, he’s hooped.”
Define, “did not declassify”. BY what process is there to declassify? Hint: You’ll be wrong no matter what you say here.
