Nice call Karen. Next time read the article
That’s truly all terrible, I’m glad you got away from all that.
I did things on my 1st tour by following orders that I’m not proud of. I was one of those uniforms going in and taking guns from people etc. I’m embarrassed and ashamed to say I did that.
It’s real men and men of God (but I repeat myself) that society needs. All uniforms up here chose subjugation and giving up their rights to keep their pay cheques. You know where they all stand. They and the firemen up here tried to stop us from protecting ourselves from the fires. They setup up road blocks and tried to refuse us entry. We went through with a dozer. Screw them. They wanted things to burn. We put an end to it.
Laz? oh wait, my bad.
Apparently they can’t tell good dogs from dangerous ones either.
Worth repeating.
Pretty sure that if the roles had been reversed, the jury would have ruled against the cop.
It sounds like you live in Oregon, am I right? And did you deploy to New Orleans after Katrina?
I’ve read the book “Five Days at Memorial”...
And the worst part of the story was how selfish cops were stealing supplies for themselves and even stealing boats for themselves.
Alberta. Hardest of the hard up here heh.
We are bro’s
Cops have pissed off the general public.
thanks to YouTube all of their little bullsh$t power trips and immunity have allowed fat, idiotic, wanna-be spec operators to be seen in public.
The women cops and the fat boy steroid boys are the worst, followed by the old cop used to barking orders and having the public bow down and kiss their feet.
The cops are under NO OBLIGATION to protect the public and frequently only go after soft compliant targets. They don’t heavily patrol high crime areas but instead are armed revenue generators for traffic infractions or minor drug charges.
Go to YouTube and watch “Lackluster” or “Here’s The Deal” and any of the other linked channels to see the obvious crappy state of policing and the steroid/adderal enhanced boys playing spec op dress up and women without the physical or emotional capacity to “protect and serve”.
I have spent my life helping others both on and off the job. At the party that was held for people who retired that year, everyone else was thanking the mayor, the city council, the chiefs, and their coworkers. When I got up, I thanked my wife for all the crap that I put her through for the previous 25 years.
Then I told the story of an elderly veteran that my wife and I ended up taking care of for a month after my crew and I had him transported to the hospital. I noticed on his driver's license that the next day was his birthday. So my wife and I brought a cake to him in the hospital. When it was time for him to be discharged the hospital called me so that we could get him back to his car. We decided to take him to a restaurant and discovered that he had no short-term memory and was unable to take care of himself. So brought him home with us and it took a month to make arrangements that he was happy with.
I am sorry that you have and MeghanC had bad experiences with the authorities. But I am certainly not alone in having put my whole heart into my job which was really more about taking care of people than fighting fires. And my crews and I did help a lot of people, even if it was just giving someone a ride across town in the fire engine when they got sick but did not want to go to the hospital. My supervisors appreciated our efforts as did the community.
And yes, I ran into a few bitter police officers over the years who were unsuited to performing their jobs in a positive way. We did our best to cause them to improve their attitudes. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes they caused trouble until they got them selves fired or found another profession.
I am sorry that you have had so many bad experiences with the police and others. My wife also was dealt a very tough hand, as bad or worse than yours. Somehow, she managed to devote her life to helping others by becoming a nurse and later a department head. And she has been a volunteered for almost countless organizations. Her accomplishments are almost endless. I am married to an angel who I could never truly deserve.
It may not be the case, but it seems to have turned you into a bitter person who has spent her life focusing on the unfairness that you have experienced. I would suggest to you that the most cathartic thing that you can do is devote yourself to helping others and encourage your children to do the same. We are living in a screwed-up world, but you don't have to let it screw you up. Sometimes you find friendship and warm people in the most unusual circumstances. It is completely unpredictable and wonderful at the same time.
Agreed. With extra power comes greater responsibility. Unfortunately our police (FEDERAL, local, and state) have gotten power and force happy. They enforce any feed our corrupt legal/judicial system. We can never get away with what our betters do. I have zero respect for the costume and badge. Spent 45+ years thinking they are here to protect and serve. Last 10+ I understand they serve themselves and their masters.
The police have the exact same privilege and responsibility under the constitution. Police just plain suck these days. Granted not ever one of them are horrible but they are the exception.
You have bought into woke media propaganda and it is sad. Being a police officer is a tough job and people with bad attitudes such as yourself tend to make their jobs much tougher.
If ruffling the feathers of career criminals would not only get you fired but ruin your whole life what would you do?
The cops DON'T ruffle the feathers of "career criminals". The are like any good predator... they go after the meek, the harmless, the easily intimidated and collect revenues... that's all they do.
They come in and put up tape, collect revenues and eat donuts, shoot up testosterone, take adderall and dress up like special operator wanna-bees.
When the cops show up... sh#t is going to happen. But usually they just want to show up and flex. Uvalde, Colorado Springs and many other examples of rioting, burning, looting and assault that occurs with cops just there with a pen/paper and millions of dollars of war gear...
Do your self a favor... watch these and educate yourself on the state of "police" at this time.
