Garth Brooks destroyed traditional country music. I was in Nashville in his earliest years.

His commercial success brought him so much money, a flood of singers and writers who were NEVER true country music singers flooded the town and erased traditional country.

Everybody in New York and LA put on boots and a cowboy hat and moved to Nashville.

It was greed. It took down the genre.

Although I could make the case that it started with Urban Cowboy.

I love country, still many great artists. Most of the good ones understand who paved the way for them.... dont see many mentioning Garth though lol.
