He positions himself as a guy who loves taking heat, and then he shies away from it when it really matters? He's such a fraud.
Also, I do not think using AI images is a smart move for any campaign.
A guy such as Stalin would have loved AI.
This illustrates that “Team DS” is comfortable using a powerful tool to obscure reality in subtle and difficult-to-detect ways. They’ve used a technology that opens enormous implications on how people’s perceptions and beliefs can be affected now and in the future. This cannot be equated with a meme.

DeSantis already made the biggest mistake of his career when he decided to run in ‘24. Once you make such an error, it’s easy to double down and keep making more mistakes in a vain attempt to salvage something, rather than reversing course and taking your lumps.

They’ve also essentially said “deepfakes of DeSantis are fair game now” too. And Trump doesn’t even have to use them. He’s got plenty of followers in his army that have the tech savvy to make some devastating deepfakes and spread them around.

You can also use AI generated deep fakes to besmirch someone's reputation - or frame them for a crime. Even to jail you. Maybe you were inside the capitol on J6.
Trump allowed Fauci to put the world’s biggest cherry on top of the 20-tier layer cake of graft, self-dealing and hatred for humanity that was his disgraceful career with FedGov.
Trump has deserved to be called out for it.
You can find fault with his technique (fake hugs) but you really can’t blame Rhonda Saster for taking a shot at doing what was inevitably going to be done by one or another Trump detractor.

They didn’t need the AI part; they overplayed their hand on that point. Far more concerning is that Trump’s own words tells us he was more afraid of a firestorm from the left than from doing the right thing and taking the heat. How was that standing between a man who is at least partly responsible for millions of deaths and us? And then awarding him a medal?!
