“Like we won the proxy wars against Russia and China in the Korean and Vietnam Wars? How were those a win?”

In Vietnam, we won the battles on the field, but we lost the war at home due to the constant communist propaganda and the communist infiltration of the antiwar movement.

Absolutely true. The “trusted” a@@ in the 3 channels of news TV was-— Walter Fn Cronkite. Lied through his teeth of the “Tet victory” when it was clear to ALL esp. the VC and NVA they had their a@@es handed to them— wiped them out.

But no- not the narrative Henry K had in mind- just one example. Mr. gravitas Cronkite who later whined about being fired on by the narcos in the Bahamas on his widdew saily boat. A real gold plated a@@hole— who also, to his credit could not stand Dan Rather trying to come up him.

Yep, I know. My brother enlisted and served in the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division in Cu Chi Vietnam in ‘66-’67. After being there a few months, he wrote that the war was a joke, but that at least when it was all over, he could say he did his part. Said it was a good thing the gooks couldn’t shoot, and that there was more of a threat of being shot by his own people, than the enemy. He talked more about his time over there in his letters, and once he got home, he never talked about any of it.
