He didn’t resign.
He changed the law in Florida so he could run for President and stay as Governor.
In a way THAT’S a little bit WORSE in this case.
I guess they have a strong Lieutenant Governor?
Clinton pulled something similar in Ark in 1988. He got the legislature to vote on changing the governor term from 2 to 4 years.
AND, term was only up in non-presidential years so if he list in 1992 he would still be gov until 1994 election.
