Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a presidential candidate who proudly touts a hardline immigration stance, is uncharacteristically mum as California officials say they are investigating the circumstances by which dozens of South American migrants were flown to California, purportedly by the state of Florida.
DeSantis has not confirmed or denied the state’s involvement with the flights, the first of which arrived in Sacramento on Friday. California officials said the 16 migrants who came off the plane were carrying documents that indicated they were transported through a program run by Florida’s state government.
A second flight carrying about 20 migrants landed in Sacramento Monday afternoon carrying the same documents indicating their travel had been administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management and its contractor, Vertol Systems Company, a spokesperson for the California Attorney Generals’ Office told the Miami Herald. “While this is still under investigation, we can confirm these individuals were in possession of documentation purporting to be from the government of the State of Florida,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement issued by his office over the weekend. “While we continue to collect evidence, I want to say this very clearly: State-sanctioned kidnapping is not a public policy choice, it is immoral and disgusting.”

An official with the Department of Homeland Security also confirmed that the agency was in touch with Newsom’s office, helping them navigate options for federal assistance.
Rachel Self, an attorney for the Martha’s Vineyard migrants, told the Miami Herald on Monday that the governor appears to be relaunching his migrant relocation program eight months after the Martha’s Vineyard flights as a “publicity boost” to help his presidential candidacy.

So they were not told in advance, hurt their feelings, and are now looking to lay blame for their embarrassment. They preferred advanced word so they could have a welcoming committee, maybe even time to get Lyn’ Ted there to hand out teddy bears.

Seems like bus tickets would be cheaper. This is an expensive publicity stunt that I’d have more respect for if his campaign had created a charity to ship these folks around the way the Democrats do.

Here the Democrat AG and Gov are already want to be involved. Ron’s people are telling his donors not to worry about low poll numbers because Trump is about to be indicted. Now Ron is about to get the same treatment.
The open borders are literally allowing for sex slavery, child slavery, etc. to run rampant - that’s real kidnapping - and of course well beyond kidnapping. But they aren’t up in arms over that - no - just relocating illegal immigrants.

So what? It’s legal to fly inside the USA and carry leaflets. Could be from Florida, could be DeSantis, could be that Newsom put those leaflets in their carry on luggage.
