It wasn’t even Bakhmut. It was a very small town not even worth mentioning. Thats the great offensive we tax payers have paid tens of billions of dollars for. BTW a lot of the equipment is ending up in other countries including the Mexican cartel.

This was why the Ukrainians fought so hard at Bakhmut: it was an unending opportunity for a good kill ratio. The neo-Stalinists around here will argue that a 2-to-1 kill ratio is plenty good for Russia to win, since it has 3 times the population. But does anyone really think Russia is as willing to fight to the last man as Ukraine is?

I don’t see people saying, “Oh, this is so terrible, all the death and destruction” from the people reporting the Russian viewpoint; I just see “Yay! The Russians are kicking Ukie ass!”
I actually want peace. But wanting peace and even hating Biden doesn’t equate to cheering on Putin or justifying the rebirth of the Soviet Union... OR writing a blank check to use NATO to fight a proxy war against the Soviet Union.
