Social security is theft by government. Screw the old people who did not prep for retirement. They can be like Boxer and die working in the fields.
Yes it is but so is everything else. As a 33-34 yr old you may not know that. Here in NY we have a program to install free window air conditioners to those who refuse to work.
“Screw the old people who did not prep for retirement.”
Real nice. People paid into the corrupt system for a lifetime and you would deny them a return on those “contributions”? How immoral can you be?
Really?
Are you saying the government didn’t take 15.3% of their lifetime earnings while they worked just like you do?
Yeah. Working at least 35 years giving to social security should be taken away from them. Are you seriously deranged? Your post is the dumbest in history.
Are you sure you understand how SSA works? LOL!
I paid in all my life, since I was 15, and am still paying in. (I'm 72). When I was 30 I would gladly have opted out, if I was able to keep my and my employers' contributions tax-deferred, like in a 401k. I will never receive the actuarial value of my "contributions". The difference between my contributions and benefits is the money given as excessively generous payments to those who preceded me. When SS hits the wall in a few years, I fear that those like me, who saved and have resources will be screwed, and those who were improvident will be favored. Sux. If SS benefits are scaled back, it should be by the same percentage across the board.
My brother, husband and I all started working as teenagers, sometimes several jobs to put ourselves through college, all the while paying into Social Security. My brother died at age 58 and my husband died at 64, both never collecting a penny. How fair is that???? I DO NOT feel guilty collecting what the government has so graciously decided to “give” me. I feel like I am collecting for what I paid in and for what my brother and husband paid in. I hope I live to be 100 to collect all that is owed to me, my brother and my husband.
You do know that you do not have to pay into social security dont you? Or are you as GD stupid as your ignorant post you sordid son of a bitch?
“Social security is theft by government.”
That is true—but you have not thought through all the implications.
Imagine that you lived all your life in Al Capone’s organized crime territory.
Money was extorted from you all your life.
The question is—are you entitled to get your money back from Al—even though you know the only way Al gets the money is to steal it from somebody else?
My attitude—get everything from Al you can get—Al is the crook—everybody else is just another victim.
so my 45 yrs of working and paying SS means nothing then?
I hear you. Just give me what I paid in and I’ll go my way. Same with Medicare.
OTHERWISE just keep mailing it to me.
Can we have the money back that was withheld from our pay without our permission?
15.6% of all wages earned in the United States, are paid into Social Security and Medicare. If you are self-employed, you pay the full 15.6% if you weren’t employed by a W-2 employer, the employer pays half of that for you, but it still adds up to 15.6% of your wages. Up to a certain amount which is 250,000 or somesuch. I don’t know about you, but I think 15.6% is a huge tax to be put on people and we have no choice about it. If we don’t pay that 15.6%, we will go to jail because the new 87000 IRS agents will find you.
Now after spending 40 or 50 years, paying 15.6% of your income into Social Security would you be happy if someone with your attitude told you to go work in the fields instead of collecting what you paid in? If you could invest that 15.6% yourself it would be much more of a viable income for you in retirement but you are not allowed to do that. You must pay your 15.6% every paycheck, rain, shine snow sleet…
Get yourself some education so you can quit saying stupid things
Call the nut house, there’s a Ron Paul nut job on the loose.
Will there be a candy mountain at the end of the road? Or a glue factory?
One day you’ll be old and screwed. In the mean time, educate yourself. Social Security is paid in proportion to the amount of social security taxes one pays. There’s plenty wrong with it, but you are barking up the wrong tree. I would have much preferred than to having paid social security taxes all my life and invest that money myself. To make matters worse, I owned and operated a business for most of my life. Not only did I pay social security taxes for myself, but the other half of every employees’ social security and Medicare taxes.
If you are so adamant about social security, then find a way to change it or end it without taking it away from those that paid into all their lives. There are entirely too many people who depend on social security to simply live.
Social security is theft by government. Screw the old people who did not prep for retirement. They can be like Boxer and die working in the fields.
Unless you’re too young to work and pay into SS may I suggest you shut your pie hole? Moron!
