Article continues to talk about how people favor one or another candidate....

But, after 12 events, the interest in hearing his speeches is

And the interest in watching him when he gave a speech on a live stream?

So don't be fooled by the deceptive desantis speak, there doesn't seem to be grassroot interest in desantis.

I get the overall impression that the 2028 nomination was his, regardless of how 2024 turns out. And now he is entering a competitive race where he is the underdog, or at least starting way behind the leader, just so he can run now.

If he wins the nomination, he most likely resigns as Governor of Florida, with an incomplete term in office there. If he does not win the nomination, he is damaged goods in 2028, or at least old news.

And overall, is it in the best interest of America that a governor resigns in the middle of a term on a volunteer basis to satisfy personal ambition?

12 events with a total of 7,000 people don’t sound that great, it’s about what Jeb and the others used to get at this point in their campaigns.

....DeSantis barnstormed the state on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by stops in New Hampshire on Thursday and South Carolina on Friday. His campaign said Friday evening that a combined 7,000 people attended his 12 events across the three states this week....

Average 580 people per evenet.
Of which, how many were media and lackeys?

Seem the candidacy is 100% astroturf

This primary is clearly MAGA vs GOP-E.

With a clear favorite that has a deeply loyal base polling well over 50% this far out, the only reason DeSantis entered is in anticipation of Trump being jailed or hopelessly tied up in court. There is no other good explanation.

The challenge for DeSantis is, even if Trump is in jail and steps aside, his base is not an automatic to vote for DeSantis, or any Republican for that matter. DeSantis is seen by many Trump supporters, myself included, as being too cozy with the swamp/CIA/Paul Ryan/GOP-E/Etc. A better version of Jeb Bush, if you will.

Any Republican candidate who is running against Trump that attacks Trump is a fool. We are done with fools.

So 583 people per event. That’s impressive. ๐Ÿ˜†
