Look, I supported him up until recently. I’m tired of his boorish and destructive behavior. The presidency is not all about him. The only sustaining thing he accomplished was new justices on the Supreme Court. Otherwise, he relied on executive orders, which often got overturned before the ink was dry and ultimately have nearly all been reversed once he left office. He didn’t do the hard work, the legislative work to get this enacted as laws. So, yes, he failed. And people can talk all about a hostile congress, but a leader negotiates, compromises, trades, and gets things done. By comparison to Trump, look at DeSantis, he’s actually accomplishing things. He’s not an entertainer, he’s a legislator, a leader. That is why I opted to support DeSantis. He’ll pick up where Trump left off, get things actually done, and more. Trump’s criticizing pro-life legislation, Trump’s supporting Coumo’s nursing home murders, Trump’s showing his LGBTQ+ support for Disney, and he’s opposed Bud Light boycott. Maybe he’s just against anything that DeSantis favors, but that is a shame and undermines what Trump used to support. And 2024 is not about Trump, it is about America.

I don’t think even Ronald Reagan could have negotiated compromises with what Trump endured. It would have been like dealing with 100 Sam Donaldsons every day.

According to some, this debt ceiling deal kneecaps any wiggle room to boost the economy 2025 and after. If this is the case, no president can fix the economy. DeSantis did not intervene in this catastrophe. Why not? He is close to many in DC and assumes he will be president.
