Christina Pushaw, “Rapid Response Director” for Ron DeSantis’s 2024 presidential campaign, recently argued that immigration “has been a net positive thing for the country,” and that she is “in favor of Dreamers” – the class of illegal migrant championed by President Barack Obama.
Pushaw stated in an unearthed Zoom call (below) that immigration does “not need to be better enforced, or regulated,” but rather, that “the law needs to be better because right now it’s extremely difficult to immigrate legally even for qualified people, even for people who are working hard which many undocumented immigrants do by the way: they work and they pay taxes.”
“I think… we need to streamline the system so that it’s easier for people who have a real reason and desire and will contribute something to the USA to actually be legal,” Pushaw argues further.
“I am in favor of dreamers, so people who were brought as kids by their parents illegally, they grew up in America, they have lives in America, I mean they’re Americanized, so yes they should be citizens,” she adds.

This follows the recent reports of Pushaw doubling down on her strong support of Volodymyr Zelensky and the war in Ukraine.
If that is what she meant, then yes, she would be correct as usually those folks are screened well beforehand. Most of the folks committing the crimes and costing our nation a trillion or so per year are illegals. The prisons are filled with illegals (but also there is a sizeable population of legal immigrants in prison also who decided joining gangs was more profitable than the jobs they came here for- but the lure of “easy money” can affect everyone, not just legal Immigrants)
The “Dreamers” (children) came with adults who came illegally and are still here-for a variety of bad policy reasons - from what I understand. Certainly happened prior to Trump so it wasn’t of his making. Trump showed off his immigration policies while President. Nobody did it as well or better except that Ike deserves credit for a very tough approach. The best I expect from Trump going forward is a reprise of his tough, anti-illegal immigration policies aggressively applied...(Plus the Dems intention to make all of these illegals VOTERS must be STOPPED).
I will say though that folks like Obama and Biden just Import people without carefully making sure they are here to work. Obama was big on bringing them into the US, giving them housing, $$ etc, and not requiring them to work. Who knows how many that they approved actually do work and contribute?

They fill out a W-4 with 8 dependents-—Been there—Seen that-—Challenged it again & again as a payroll supervisor. When they are getting any level of wages with 8 dependents-—they are NOT paying a dime in income taxes....Fed or state.
BUT they DO FILE a 1040 & then get over $4000 in ‘refund’ due to “Earned Income Child Credit”.
THAT SCAM has been in place as long as the Child credit has been in place.
Again-—been there-—saw that.
