That’s not a bug, that’s a feature.

Democrats can enact laws that require all-electric homes and automobiles, but they cannot counter the laws of physics, specifically Ohm’s Law, the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance.

When the current increases (increased demand by all-electric homes) and voltage remains the same, the resistance increases, limiting the amount of electricity that can pass through the electrical grid. Neighborhood electrical grids will need to be upgraded for all-electric homes.

The electrical grid must be designed and built in new single-family subdivisions to support all-electric homes. The number of electrical transformers per home will increase, from one 50 KVA transformer per four homes to one 50 KVA transformer per two homes.

And how much will it cost existing homes to upgrade to all electric as they eliminate the natural gas distribution system?

The scum sucking elites will just say, let them eat cake, cooked on an open fire, but no gas.

California long ago mandated low flush toilets, and low water “energy efficient” washing machines. Both of those are pretty awful.

They hardly never think about the second and third effects because they are only focused on their narcissistic behaviors and give-a-ways of treasury to get their LCD base to support them in the next election.
But”some how, they manage.”

Pretty soon only the woke Amish will be left in the golden state and eventually the entire west coast. Oops, forgot to add Colorado.

And while they destroy California and the US, China and India have free reign to use coal, petroleum, and whatever they want, laughing at the destruction of the US.

As far as I know PG&E and SoCal Edison didn’t pull Gavin Newsom aside when he was mandating all this and say “hey bud, have you lost your everlovin mind?’. So basically they own it.

” That is a true dream for climate activists but a nightmare in today’s world of rolling blackouts.”

And a dream come true for government that will have the capability to control most everything about your life.

A “kill switch” effectively.

Has anyone commented “no sh*t Sherlock” yet?

Because that is my response.

That’s the plan! They will live in mansions with heat, AC, light, and rich foods, while we shiver in the cold and dark eating bugs. All to save humanity of course!

A kilowatt hour will power a Tesla for about three miles.

I have 125 Amp Service. I’m not sure if that is 240 volts via two lines or two 120 volt lines.

I think that works out to be about 40 miles per hour of electricity. It might be 80 miles per hour of electricity.

An EV would be the only additional major load.

Of course they can’t and won’t.

It’s all part of the plan to destroy the US and middle class.

This is intentional. Most of California’s coastal elite live near the ocean . Many homes there don’t even have AC and heating because they don’t need it.

“...A typical twelve-hundred–sq. ft. home with gas heat, stove, and water heater needs a 100-amp electrical service. “

I cannot believe any new house would have a 100 amp service.

I built my 1,050 sq. ft. home in ‘95 (no a/c - we don’t need it) and we have a 200 amp service. Propane heat, range and hot water...

A typical home here has a 200 amp service with a 100 amp sub panel in a detached garage.

The big homes have 400 amp (or more) service panels.

I do believe we will see California self destruct within 15 years — invest in popcorn futures! Should be fun, and sad, to watch!
