I certainly won’t be voting for any (R) incumbents on my state rep ballot. If they are unchallenged I will write in a name like James Bowie or Sam Houston.
Dade Phelan is a treasonous rat. He and his little rino’s join up with the rats and kill almost every good bill in the house. A despicable POS.
.y view of Abbott has been fairly positive.
But he appears ineffective in ways. Now it’s more clear. Had no idea Bush GOP was so influential in TX. Analogy to McCain GOP in AZ is good.
I smell George P behind this.
Does this honestly surprise you??? ANYONE that goes up against the establishment!!!
No doubt the Bush klan are behind it.
The white shoe mafia of the Republican Party is a disgrace.
Actions like this are what lead to Donald Trump in the first place.
I hate RINOS!
Disgusting.
I think there is some fire under all that smoke (he killed the criminal case by getting the county to de-fund the special prosecutors) but he’s been doing a great job for Texans.
And there is a lot of rot amongst the Republicans in the Texas House.
The hearing is being held without due process for Paxton. A GOP representative is now on the floor speaking out against the proceeding.
The hearing today has been very interesting to listen to. One Democrat (Harold Dutton-District 142) has spoken out strongly and very eloquently against the rushed process. The members of the House only received the impeachment papers on Wednesday evening. It has 20 counts and they have had very little time to review the accusations.
The impeachment committee interviewed people who had heard accusations against Paxton from other parties. There was apparently no direct evidence presented but only hear-say.
Some have the opinion they are pushing an impeachment of General Paxton because he is going after Pfizer and the vaccines.
The statements from the House members appears to be winding down and I expect a vote on impeachment will be held soon.
BREAKING | Texas House votes to impeach AP Ken Paxton.
It was a quick vote. So quick I almost missed it. I think it was only by 2 votes, but I’m not positive of the numbers since it happened so quickly. Paxton is immediately removed from office.
Horrible. He was always a target.
“Horrible. He was always a target.”
So true. He has led and joined other state AGs in filing many cases against the Biden administration. They had hoped to take him out via the election last fall. When that failed, they started the “accusation is evidence” scheme and started piling up the accusations.
The same RINOs who have turned President Trump’s back into their own Cutlery Racks are now going after Paxton, using the same odious and disgusting playbook that they used on President Trump.
Pretty sure it was a much bigger margin than 2 votes.
But mine is Holland, and looks like an ‘aye’ from him :/
“Pretty sure it was a much bigger margin than 2 votes.”
It was. The vote was 121-23. I heard the “1” and the “3” and that was it. The vote was done very quickly — maybe 30 seconds if that. The results was announced even faster and then the hearing was adjourned for a 15 minutes break.
This was a planned hit job and did not follow precedent for impeachment proceeding. I hope the Senate does an even quicker job and immediately acquits Paxton so he can return to office. The Senate make up is 19-GOP and 12-Dems However, I have no idea as to how many GOP are RINOS and will vote to convict. The House has a 22 seat GOP majority and look how many voted to impeach.
This will be handled by Tony Buzbee. Tony is a beast.
