It takes a lot of work successfully putting on a parade, even on the amateur levels. Lots of planning, rehearsing, movement of equipment, in some cases, keeping the horses calm but attentive. The sound systems must be in synch. And then, you’re supposed to keep on smiling during your long walk on the hot asphalt.
Choreographer Busby Berkeley was another outstanding entertainment talent during that era.
His medium was working with dancers, who created the geometric-mosaic like illusions of parades.
