DeSantis is literally an unknown when it comes to how he'd behave if President. As Governor, he's never had to deal with a divided State Legislature. He's had more than a 2-1 ratio of Republicans against Democrats in both Houses. He's untested when he comes to negotiating Bills with a Democrat-controlled Legislature, so how would he act if it was a 2-1 ratio of Democrats running both Houses of Congress. It's happened before, usually during the midterm elections. Republican Presidents, after midterms, usually end up with a Democrat-controlled Congress. The rare time that Republicans lost just the House was during Donald Trump's administration during the 2018 midterms. Republicans kept the Senate, and then of course lost it.
“DeSantis is literally an unknown when it comes to how he’d behave if President. As Governor, he’s never had to deal with a divided State Legislature. “
When Trump was elected he had both houses and lost them both.
“He’s untested when he comes to negotiating Bills with a Democrat-controlled Legislature, “
We know how Trump faired with a Democrat legislature!
He was able to increase his margin at the state legislature. And replace RINOS with people who will pass his agenda.
I expect he’d do the same nationally. Get rid of RINOs and put in people who will support a conservative agenda.
