So when “people like this” backed Trump it was fine, but now that the same donor backs DeSantis it’s bad and a clear indication that DeSantis is secretly GOPe. Makes sense—not.
What about addressing the man’s point, which is valid? Voters already know if they like Trump or not therefore he has very little room to gain new voters, which does not bode well for winning the general.
You said “Makes sense-not”.
I will be kind here and say that you should perhaps think more deeply about it, because it only “makes sense-not” when you examine this superficially, which is what you are doing.
The “man’s point” is that because he thinks Election Fraud should be ignored, Trump is therefore a bad candidate because he won’t ignore it and will polarize people.
Perhaps you feel differently. Perhaps you feel that focusing on people breaking the law to steal an election is divisive and will drive the precious “independent voters” to the other side seems to be the primary concern.
That very much sounds like “We need to find a way to find a middle ground with the Left on abortion so we can win elections”.
If one views abortion as in practice, the ending of human life to engage in birth control, then one isn’t going to find middle ground with people who celebrate it.
In like fashion, if one views the sacred covenant we have with our government as being valid only if we get to choose who governs us, and that that process to choose is free and fair, then there isn’t a damned four year statute of limitations on it, because if there is, we are no longer a republic.
So, anyone who says that we should let it go, as this “megadonor” does, indicates his interests are more focused on his own money, power, and influence than they are on the well-being of this republic and I want nothing to do with him.
