More and more stores will go to on-line sales, the local stores will just close down.

However, there are just some things I want to SEE for myself, to actually judge quality. Online doesn't cut it for that (although a liberal return policy helps). Clothing material quality, fruit, vegetable and meat quality, tool and equipment quality, you name it, need to see it for myself. Of course, then you actually have to BUY the item locally to support the local store, so that it doesn't become a very temporary online showroom. But then, that's only for in the good areas. The downtowns and 'hoods are a whole different problem.
