The operations on the flanks are indeed “diversionary” because they threaten an encirclement of the main Russian forces.

I’m unaware that Ukraine and the media aren’t publishing what happens in the city, I see a map every day which now shows the city is 95% under Russian control.

Going to the G8 to get more support could not possibly be a “fool’s errand”.

Well written, the object of the Bakhmut operation was to bleed out and degrade Russian forces while taking the least amount of casualities possible. I’m reminded of that age-old strategic maxim, endlessly repeated since the time of Sun-Tzu through Clausewitz and beyond, taught in every military school across the planet, “He who controls Bakhmut holds the key to conquering the world.”

Ukraine has not accomplished "squat." The Ruskies are fighting the whole of the US/WEST. And so far, they've captured 20% of the Uke territory -- and expanding. In fact, this is shaping up to be another major boondoggle for the US like we saw in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc.

In fact, the Ruskies just captured Bakmut with a rag-tag group of prisoners and malcontents. WOW! That really speaks well for your Uke friends and the US/NATO! Right? In the meantime, we stand ready to default on our debt obligations while you and Biden/Brandon send $200 billion to the clown, Zelensky. And, we can't even protect our own borders while being invaded from the south.
