I genuinely want to like DeSantis but people need to ask questions about who is pushing him to futilely run against Trump. Trump can be his own worst enemy, but most of his “negatives” were painted by the globalist elites, leftist media, and GOPe and there are many (even here on FR) that fail to separate his legitimate flaws (like all of us) from the propaganda nor do they weigh his negatives against his record.

Ron DeSantis is the choice of Paul Ryan, the Bushies, and the National Review neocons. I don’t blame Ron for taking the money (he is not Trump) and I can cheer when he punches Woke Disney in the face, but my short-lived applause will mean nothing when one of my children (prime war fighting age) is killed or wrecked in some new misadventure abroad brought to you by the globalist neocon world police crowd who have CLEARLY decided that Ron is their man.

The people endorsing DeSantis scare me and they are the biggest poison in the GOP. People need to step back and ask some hard questions.

His political future is going to depend on this decision and those advising him are not being truthful with him. Ron will NEVER win the Oval office if he alienates the MAGA base regardless of how many GOP elites endorse him and National Review clearly views Ron as their best chance to wreck Trump.

Trump may well lose the 2024 race, but in two years either way we will be on here discussing about how badly Ron played the last few months and the ones to come. If he embraces the National Review Chamber of Commerce Neocon support he is NOT the man we thought he was.

That is my .02 and flame away

They engineered an election to get rid of Trump. I now pay about 1000 bucks more a month in my household budget because of it. We closer to war around the world and our nation is looking worse by the week. I have lost 1/3 of my retirement savings and I am eligible to retire.

Given the big picture I would rather have the brash and nasty guy from Queens in office.

We need a “wartime President” if we are to survive. Trump reminds me of Patton in many respects. He is the “nasty bastard” (Patton’s description of himself) you want leading the attack even if he offends the peacetime generals who thrived in the bureaucracy.

With all due respect, Paul Ryan and his ilk are a CANCER and I will NEVER vote for them or their minions and I hope and pray that DeSantis keeps them at arms length. We are watching.

Great post. This is exactly why so many of us are wary of DeSantis. The GOPe is backing him financially and giving him the organizational help to take on Trump in the primaries. RDS is indebted to them, and does anyone think they will allow the governor to press forward with a MAGA-like agenda that is more populist on domestic policies and stressing lesser American intervention in world affairs and foreign conflicts? Hell no. The globalist bankers and CEO’s and the defense contractors don’t want MAGA period. RDS is a no vote for me in 2024 and beyond.
