If the bombshells unleashed at Wednesday morning’s House Oversight Committee press conference had been about the corruption of a Republican president via millions of dollars in foreign bribes to his family, the clamor for impeachment would have been deafening.
But Joe Biden has the protection of the Deep State and unscrupulous Democratic lawyers, so accountability will be slower, though no less certain, if Oversight Chairman James Comer continues his dogged pursuit of the money.
Comer (R-Ky.) has delivered an astonishing forensic interim accounting of $10 million in payments from just two of the countries, Romania and China, which enriched the president’s family during his vice presidency and in the weeks afterward.
That’s not counting further millions from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Romania, Oman, or earlier China deals and “other foreign business deals the Committee is investigating.”
The only business the Bidens were engaged in for all that filthy lucre was selling Joe’s influence to the highest foreign bidder when he was VP, with no regard for national security, and with his knowledge and active involvement, including meeting at least a dozen of son Hunter Biden’s foreign benefactors.
“This investigation is about Joe Biden,” Comer said, to state the astonishingly obvious.
The Post has been at the forefront of reporting on this corruption scandal for almost three years.

That congress got facts to do forensic reports on and that there is some media coverage means that a relatively strong faction of the left has decided Biden needs to go. That he has not been kicked to the curb means another relatively strong faction is protecting him.
We’ll see if faction 1 is strong enough to kneecap Biden.
This is how democrats do their primaries, at least where I live. They kneecap anyone the dominant faction wants out and buy out those they can’t kneecap. That’s why there’s almost never a serious democrat primary in my state.

I see the current Biden situation as a deadlocked left. Newsome, Polis, Whitmer and others all are salivating to be president — and they have power and the ability to move information in Washington. OTOH, the national security state is comfy that Biden won’t do anything to reduce their power and they will continue to protect him for quite some time.
That’s why it is a drip drip drip. For example, the treasury released the suspicious activity reports. That would never have happened if the left were united. OTOH, congress can’t get the FBI whistleblower reports.
The old media doesn’t know what to do with the story because someone’s going to be the next president and they had better pick right on this issue.
Contrast 2016. HRC was as least as horribly corrupt as Biden and nothing could touch her. The reason, Sanders was the only alternative and he scares even the deep state so HRC had powerful and comprehensive cover from the folks who run the leftwing.
You’re probably right that there is also the factor of competing camps. I think the news, after Hillary lost in 2016, that was leaking was being done to tell her that she was done. If she ran again, the flood gates would be open.

The DS doesn’t have to cover the Bidens, because the two-tiered “justice” system will. There is no way any of them will be prosecuted.
If they lose their political coverage they're toast.

I checked 3 of the C-Spans prior and after 8 a.m. CDT, after the press conference started and there was no coverage. I checked again at 8:35 a.m. CDT, during the press conference and C-Span was not covering. I also heard Comer thanking C-Span twice and thought that either he knew they were not covering and wanted them to know that he knew and maybe they would go after their funding. If I am somehow wrong about the coverage I apologize, but when checking during the press conference I sure didn’t receive it on my tv.

Won’t matter. At best it’d be fleeting with the “media,” who, upon orders from the DNC would move on to other subjects and term this issue “old news.” The dems aren’t going to let loose of the old fossil they so easily control.
