Bellingham was wonderful in the 70s when I went to Western Washington College for three years (now WWU). Then transferred to UW which was a pretty good environment at the time also.

The most enjoyable bike riding I’ve ever done was around Bellingham, including San Juan Islands and North Cascades area.
