"This is the ugly transition period for AI. When it is over it will easily pay for itself."

I don't disagree at all, but he cited legal and medical, and having tested GPT-4 on the former, not a chance in hell is it robust enough for a professional services contract.

If you were on trial for a serious crime, would you want an AI jury, judge - or lawyer?

We’re probably going there. Some jurisdictions already involve AI for some minor infractions; and it’s not too long until AI will be used to predict criminal behavior (think ‘Minority Report’ and ‘precrime’.)

The more I’ve learned about this, the more it scares me - especially in the areas of law and justice. (Malicious content deletion or corruption, the artificial creation of ‘evidence’, to mention just two).

‘Power’ that’s very useful can be used for good reasons or for evil and stupidly dangerous ones.

Can AI replace paying customers?

Perhaps, with hacked credit counts.
