The “fight” with Disney was over the mis-characterized “Don’t Say Gay” law. Disney has long been a gay-friendly employer. Good for them. When Florida passed the aforementioned legislation, Disney executives involved themselves in a completely unnecessary controversy and attacked the governor. Now, the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law merely forbids public elementary school teachers from discussing sexuality (homo, hetero, canine, bovine, what-have-you) with children under eight years old. That doesn’t mean you cannot say that cows have calves, and cats have kittens, but one should avoid discussing the mechanics of the birds and the bees with four-years-olds.
There is no good reason for kindergarten teachers to be discussing their sex lives with their charges.
Disney enjoyed privileges tantamount to self-government that were granted under Florida law when Walt was scouting real-estate for Disneyland East. Now Disney World is just another business like Universal Studios or Sea World.

Exactly, there was no logical reason for Disney to want Sex Ed for kindergarten kids.
