There was an MSN article on this that didn't make sense. This one makes sense. It's interesting but not surprising that the big media companies are keeping it so quiet or obfuscated.

Except for this error. I'm guessing that the writer meant to refer to a North Korean rocket that might be carrying a satellite but could be carrying a weapon.

Sad that after over 30 years the Patriot is still touted as the final answer to everything that falls from the sky.
We learned in Desert Storm that they often deflect objects from their original trajectory but rarely, if ever, “destroy” them.
The system was designed to acquire, track, and disable manned and unmanned airborne threats, which it does extremely well. It does not “vaporize” junk falling from the sky (SCUDs, satellites, etc).
