What data shows about immigrants committing crimes in San Mateo Co. as sanctuary policy vote passes

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors passed a controversial sanctuary ordinance Tuesday that will restrict the county from cooperating with ICE without a federal judicial warrant -- even if the immigrant was previously convicted of violent crimes, like murder, rape, or child molestation.

Supervisor David Canepa authored the ordinance on the grounds it will bring more equality to asylum seekers and prevent collusion from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The I-Team spoke with Canepa last week discussing concerns over recidivism rates.

Sierra: "Why didn't you support the three exemptions for those convicted of murder, rape, and child molestation?"

Sup. Canepa: "When it comes to those types of crimes you're exactly right... we're not going to cooperate with ICE. Why should there be double punishment?

Sierra: "But the question, supervisor, was why didn't you support those three exemptions?"

Sup. Canepa: "The answer to that... we took it on its totality, Stephanie. We heard from families... There are people that have served their time. They should be released."

Come to America to murder, rape and molest children. It would be sad but fitting in one of these illegal alien criminals did something bad to one of this supervisor’s family member

The group is in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas in hopes of reaching Mexico City, where they plan to pressure government officials to provide them with exit visas or legal documents that would allow them to continue their journey to the United States border. The asylum-seeking caravan, which is largely composed by individuals from Central and South America as well as China and other Asian countries, had threatened to block roads or cause self-injuries Monday unless the Mexican government agreed to meetings or supply buses that would transport them to the capital.

Just a little bit of immigrant wacky fun.

Why so serious?

...bring more equality to asylum seekers and prevent collusion from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Yeah, CITIZENS don't have to deal with ICE, so why should NON-citizens? Let's all be equal about this.

While we are working on this equality thing, I'd sure like some of Elon Musk's riches. It just isn't fair I'm not the richest man in the world and building cool rockets for a living. I demand income equality and rocket equality.

Somebody else can be equal in the EV craze. That's not for me.

Sad. San Mateo county goes from South SF to Menlo Park, next to Stanford. Rather diverse. My neighbors down there were good people. Think Rep. ? telling Clinton’s employee to kill himself.

Of the cases we analyzed, two stood out. The immigrants were convicted of sexually abusing children. One was arrested and booked in county jail a total of five times for other crimes. While the other person was arrested and booked a total of 14 times for other crimes.

Arrested and booked 14 times but not deported. Remains here to prey upon American citizens.

I’m about five miles south of the San Mateo County / Santa Clara County line.

Unbelievable, isn’t it?

At least Texas put that guy arrested NINE times for DUI away for life.
