Oh, those racist racist areas that don’t have enough trees - b/c of rampant racism!
I remember when the mayor of LA, the hapless Villaraigosa proposed planting a million trees - there was a small grove planted along a roadway near my workplace - the trees were planted, all right, but never watered or taken care of. They were burned-up sticks within six months. Sad to see... I heard this happened all over LA to those trees.
One billion dollars to plant trees?

The first thing a black family does in Memphis when a tree drops leaves on their car and yard is to cut down that tree.

I’m all for trees, but we already have the Tree City USA program to bring tree cover to the cities.
My neighborhood, and much of the inner city of Cleveland has tree coverage on most residential streets. Regardless of income levels.
Unfortunately on the more ‘diverse’ areas of town there is a habit of littering that is hard to believe. You can see people throw garbage on the ground within a few feet of a trash can.
Hard to beautify an area that the residents are Hell bent on making ugly.
What percentage of ownership in tree nurseries did the “Big Guy” get?
We will need a lot of trees when we eventually start hanging these people.
