Much as I dislike Shiff, I’m not so sure this is illegal. In my case, I am in a somewhat similar situation as Shiff. I live roughly half a year in each of two states (and a couple of weeks in neither). By laws in both states, I can only vote in one of them, and claim a homestead exemption (for state property taxes) in only one of them. There is no indication that these can’t be in different states. I have no clue what the California requirements are, especially for being a state representative, but at least for voting and paying taxes, it is legal for me.

I truly hope that is ALL you have IN COMMON with Representative Schiff.
Are you a lawyer? To say one’s situation is similar (but not identical) to another person’s situation, and then surmise that identical legal outcomes are logical, is illogical.
