US should be strong enough, brutal if necessary, that no one dares touch US embassy, workers, or citizens. But under Biden, we instead quickly surrender and run.

“US should be strong enough, brutal if necessary...”

It apparently is whan it comes to putting up the rainbow flag even if it pisses off the locals, but when things really get rough, it runs away.

Agree.

Remember the serious statement until maybe the late 1970s “You can’t do this to me. I’m an American citizen.”

First I heard of an explanation for why it was becoming a joke was that President Jimmy Carter had so many foreign power entanglements and behind the scenes backpedaling deals going on that he couldn’t do anything about most cases. And foreign powers knew he was a total weakling and incompetent.

The subsequent Iranian U.S. Embassy abduction of non combatant Americans under supposed diplomatic protection set that old statement to rest for good.

However, the United Nations in NYC and the other foreign embassies get full diplomatic immunity. Bad car accidents involving DWI and other crimes by foreigners result in deportation instead of prison or most end with no charges at all.
Note: Two similar protections for foreigners in the US.
“Sovereign or governmental immunity protects a sovereign state or agency from lawsuits without their consent. Diplomatic immunity is granted to diplomatic personnel exempting them from the laws of a foreign jurisdiction.”

So
US out of the UN. UN out of the US.
