My commentary was regarding the “outrage” over stuff that doesn’t matter.
Artistic liberty with historical movies is a given. You don’t sue someone because you don’t like their art. You simply don’t patronize it.
So much of the outrage these days is manufactured. People get upset over things that don’t happen all that much, and even when they do—it doesn’t impact 99.99% of the population.
If a director wants to portray Cleopatra as a 3 foot tall Amazonian pygmy, who cares? There are so many other options out there.
How is this different than Elizabeth Taylor acting as the Egyptian queen? Talk about incorrect depictions!
It propagates falsehood. How do you think we got to the social conditions we now face? It was accomplished through a continuous stream of propaganda. If this sort of thing doesn’t upset you, then you just might be part of the problem.
