maybe Fox lawyers thought it was good to settle without a trial? A trial would have aired out a lot of things. Maybe Fox management thought a trial would hurt Fox’s public image?
We may never know why they settled.
Because the last thing Paul Ryan wants is to expose that Dominion flipped votes to Biden in 2020 and to Killary in 2016.
“We may never know why they settled.”
Probably because they thought they would lose in court .
Murdoch just put the hammer down and told them -- SETTLE. It's not worth the headache and he can afford the payout. Fox News staff shot themselves in the foot with contradictory statements, emails, and backroom rumor-mongering. Tucker hasn't been stellar in this whole thing either.
I have no doubts about Dominion's activities in the recent election, but in the current environment, it's better to move forward and meet the next election's challenges head on...
Sounds like extortion.
Probably for the same reason that they called states for Biden when they did, and why a liberal is in charge of their election night coverage.
Do not the same investment companies own all the major news media?
They settled in order to avoid having all of their on-air talent go under oath, on television, and admit they lied about everything they said to convince you lot that the election was stolen.
They’ve said it in print already of course, but since none of you can read, that didn’t have as much impact.
