The homeowner who allegedly shot a black teen in the head after he mistakenly rang his doorbell in Kansas City was hit with two felony counts on Monday as prosecutors said he could spend the rest of his life in jail.
Andrew D. Lester, 85, was charged with assault in the first degree and armed criminal action for the shooting of 16-year-old Ralph Yarl in a crime that had a “racial component,” according to the Clay County Prosecutor Office.
Lester was not immediately arrested on Monday evening. A bond of $200,000 was set for the suspect.......

That said, I've lived in sketchy neighborhoods as a young man, and I did everything I could to get well away from them.
This is all cover for age limits on 2A. Castle domain
Was the young man who was shot so confident that he was at the right address that he grabbed at the door handle and prepared to let himself into what was, in fact, the wrong house?
Are the young man's fingerprints on the door handle? Is his DNA on the door handle? Did the old man shoot through the door or did he shoot through the doorway? Is there any blood splatter on the inside of the door or inside the house? If a bullet passed through a glass door, where did the glass fragments land? Did any neighbors have video cameras that might have recorded the incident?
My final question: Does anybody but me watch true crime videos while on a treadmill?
You don’t read much or well do ya?
I keep telling people to learn not to answer their
phones, and learn not to answer their doors.
I basically follow that procedure. If I don’t know
the number then I’ll let them leave a message. I get
a lot of these robo calls pestering for some insurance
gimmick, etc. at least 10 a day.
I let them ring till they hang up and most all will never
leave a message. At that point they get on my blocked call
list. A lot of these calls are not from the area code you
maybe living in now.
Do tell
Now some media are finally admitted that the little black Einstein actually ENTERED the house, and did not merely “ring the doorbell.” It was 10pm. And most burglars ring the doorbell also to see if anyone is home.
Article says he was shot with a .32 revolver.
I know the media lies, But so far people are acting as bad as the media in the opposite way.
It looks like a tragic situation for both involved. We don’t know what happened for sure yet, but it is wrong for people to call this 16 year old a thug or say he was making threats or that he was stupid for making a mistake that got himself shot.
His mother probably sent him to go pick up his brothers. The old man was probably scared at having someone at his door. But shooting someone that knocks on your door is just wrong. All he had to do is yell through the door and ell the kid that he was at the wrong house.
Oh wow, that sure changes a lot. maybe no one answered and he thought his brothers were in there so he walked in.
Wel, we shall see and at least the old dude is out of the reach of the rent-a-mob that would just as likely stomp him to death in the street.
Yeah.
The first stories are always lies or wrong.
Sorry smartass, I read another article and it said differently.
Now, we really don’t know which is true, do we? Unless you know something everyone else doesn’t know yet.
Alarms, yes. Shooting right away? No.
Could have been his own grandchild stranded with a dead phone.
Lucky for the kid, the old man shot him with a .32, and probably just grazed him with the first shot, or it didn't penetrate. The second round was in the arm. Fortunately, the boy will heal. The prognosis for the shooter is not so good.
"Racial component"? How very,very predictable!
Always wait 3 days for the facts to trickle out before forming an opinion
First reporting is usually 80% bull schitt, especially when a black teen Involved
If backed up by the word of a respected Neurologist or Neuroradiologist I’d be inclined to carefully consider such a defense.
