I would suggest by 2030....there won’t be a single major city on the eastern half of the country with a Wal-Mart store existing. As the theft issue triggers closures...the theft crew will find fewer available stores, and move onto the remaining ones. In Chicago, you might have to drive 30 miles to the nearest grocery.

I’ll even predict ‘club-stores’ opening where you have to be a member and have present a credit card upon entry.

Cities will just add more electric busses to shuttle the shoppers 30 miles

Those will surely be free to buy, operate, and maintain

It will be that way with Amazon One and other similar methods. Tagged items that will let you "walk out" - just like Amazon does.

The theft will lead to the precursor to the Mark of the Beast systems. The world is not there - yet.

Amazon One - Palm-print scanner

Pay with your hand - Forerunner to the coming Mark of the Beast (Revelation 13)

Using one's hands to pay for food. A boxed "convenience store" (Hudson Nonstop, LAX airport, Dallas Love Field airport), to Arbor Trails Whole Foods (Austin, Texas), to paying for food at Panera Bread, to other Whole Foods stores (owned by Amazon).

Yes, I use Amazon for shopping from time-to-time but this "scan-your-hand-to-pay" is already alive and in operation - no doubt it will continue to expand / grow in acceptance. The conditioning (intentional or unintentional, it will make no difference) has started.

I'm sure the people in the pics think they're showing the latest "cool thing" - possibly mocking and laughing at any reference to the "Mark of the Beast" - this is just a sampling of the pictures I found.

By the time the actual Mark of the Beast, these kinds of payment systems will be fully-embedded in society I think.

Amazon One

The world is not there - YET. But the conditioning, intentional or unintentional - it will make no difference. Fast, easy, secure, convenient. IMHO, cash will be outlawed. Digital Currency 100% will be the future. /Captain Obvious

And so shall the world be prepared for 7 years of 'Peace and Security'

That's an excellent idea. They can't even claim its "RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRACISSSSSSSSSS!!!!" because hey, anybody can join the club. You just have to be in the club and present your club membership card to enter the store. What's that? You want to join the club and get your unique club membership card which will be scanned in order for you to gain entry? Then show us government issued photo ID and a major credit card.

You don’t expect the wokerati to admit error, or change their opinions in the face of utter failure? The electrical grid and the military are on their way to disaster, but hey, omelet, eggs.

Get rid of self checkouts may have helped stop some of the theft.

Invest in companies making heavy steel bars and barriers to enter and leave stores. You’ll have to go through an “airlock” double entry to get in or out. On the way out, you will be strip searched.

All stores will be run by gangs loyal to the DNC.

This is fascism on display.

You would think that Club stores that require membership cards to enter along with armed security roaming their parking lots - would serve to curve theft. On the other hand, thieves can be innovative in overcoming obstacles to their free stuff.

What we're seeing is that businesses do not want the hassle and overhead needed to mitigate the high occurrence of theft in certain cities. They prefer to move to less thug infested locations.

Over the past 10-15 years Family Dollar made a massive move into urban ghetto America. For the time being, they are the big blue crap hole city WalMart. Of course, they are hemorrhaging from shoplifting and continue to raise prices to let the unfortunate honest customers pay for it. Eventually the dollar stores will leave as well. Just as Indians control the independent motel industry, Arab immigrants, who control the liquor/snack/“food” stores in the ghettos, will be the only option left.
