I see, so the CEO of this sick disaster is a good guy because he was in the military prior to the CIA. Got it.

So you understand, just because someone was in the military, does not mean they’re a good guy with great character.

I agree.
Throwing around your veteran status is lame.

“I see, so the CEO of this sick disaster is a good guy because he was in the military prior to the CIA. Got it.”

My statement implied nothing about his service in the USMC making him good or bad just as his tenure in the CIA doesn’t make him good or bad. I am well aware there are good and bad people in the military, just as there are in every walk of life. Simply belonging to a group doesn’t define who you are. Each individual gets to choose who they are and demonstrate character by their personal behavior, particularly when circumstances test that character.

Whatever his background and training he seems to be failing during an extreme test of his leadership. Great leaders take ownership of the performance of their organizations. They quickly make corrections when the organization fails. They are decisive and clear in communicating.

The AB CEO has not taken ownership, has not shown any sign of taking corrective action and the few communications from the company lack clarity. Perhaps his hands are tied by his bosses in Europe (AB is owned by a European company). At this point he seems to be hoping the storm will simply die out without him having to make decisive changes which will alienate the young woke customers the brand is trying to attract. If the wait and see strategy works, sales will recover. If not, his European bosses will fire him and give someone else the challenge of rebuilding the brand and the company.

Is the CEO a good guy? I know nothing about his character or his soul from the news reports. I only have the perception he is not publicly demonstrating strong leadership in a time of crisis. Perhaps behind closed doors he is behaving differently.
