Kentucky just passed law that requires the governor to pick replacements from 3 selections provided him by the party of the departing senator.

Hope it’s a Rand Paul clone.

RE:what are the rules for replacing a senator there?

...............
1) Check to see what Soros wants
2) Clear it with the Chinese Communists
3) Get okay from BLM
4) You’re good to go with it.

I have never understood the animosity here towards Mitch McConnell, without whom we would not have a 6 to 3 conservative supreme court.

I have never understood the animosity here towards Adolph Hitler, without whom we would not have the autobahn.

That works well …almost per the original constitution.

Agreed. This legislature passed that law over the governor’s veto
So, you know this legislature would never, ever pick a democrat.

Yes, Rand Paul or Ron Johnson.

Thune and Cornyn are both RINOS. One doesn’t know much about Barasso but considering the other two there’s not much cause for optimism.

Libya, under Gaddafi’s rule, had free healthcare, free education, free housing, and no national debt

Looks like the fix is NOT in:

63.200 United States Senator — Procedures for filling of vacancy.
(1) (a) The Governor shall fill vacancies in the office of United States Senator by
appointment and the appointee shall serve until a successor has been elected
and qualified under subsection (2), (3), (4), or (5) of this section.
(b) The appointee shall be selected from a list of three (3) names submitted by the
state executive committee of the same political party as the Senator who held
the vacant seat to be filled, shall have been continuously registered as a
member of that political party since December 31 of the preceding year, and
shall be named within twenty-one (21) days from the date of the list
submission
(c) In the event the vacant seat was held by a person who was not a member of
any political party as defined under KRS 118.015, the Governor shall appoint
any qualified voter who is not a member of any political party as defined
under KRS 118.015.
(d) Upon appointment, the Governor shall, under the seal of the Commonwealth,
certify the appointment to the President of the Senate of the United States. The
certificate of appointment shall be countersigned by the Secretary of State.

Cue the sad trombone music the Surrender Monkeys came up empty again.

Uh, no. State legislatures determine how senators are replaced. Governors have Constitutional authority only until legislatures meet. Most hand it to the governor, but many legislatures restrict the choices in various ways.

Article 1, Section 3, Clause 2

There are far too many senators who have passed their best by date and need to reach their expiration date.

My only concern is who they are going to replace them with. It’s NEVER anyone good. Look at cuomo and hochul.

Yep...a real shame for sure.
Karma has a way of following what goes around, and it’s a real bitch to be on the wrong end of it sometimes.

Beshear, the DEMOCRAT Governor, doubtlessly has a reliable leftist in the wings to replace him.
