The two Wal-Mart stores in Portland Oregon are now closed.

This trend will continue as capitalists redirected capital away from areas that won’t produce a good ROI.

******

Furthermore, the retail sector is completely saturated with overcapitalized companies that grew during the era of cheap money. The cheap money caused an unsustainable business model. A model that will break do to global demographics.(The current labor supply is insufficient to meet demand)

All these name brand corporations depend on “no name” suppliers, these suppliers and their labor force are under constant pressure to produce “more with less” & at lower costs.(While absorbing high costs & regulations)

The model worked during the baby boom era, an era which allowed businesses to become extremely picky about who they employed.

“Those days are going away.”
