Me too - looks like most Freepers don’t bother sending cards. I usually buy 100 Forever stamps at a time. Some bills I pay online, some I pay by check!

“”I’m old enough to remember when the price of a first-class stamp was 3¢.””

Me too but I don’t want to admit it. I would “borrow” a stamp from my mother to mail something when I was a teenager and I paid her for the stamp!!!

Thanks! Didn’t know I could do that. There are some pieces that come that way - problem solved! :)

Don’t forget taxes. My property tax has went up from a little over $300 2x a year in 2017 to $460 2x a year now.

600/920= .66

So tax has went up 34% in 6 years. Folks are not mentally comprehending what is going on. This is clearly unsustainable if incomes don’t follow.

Oh yes... I'm sure it's inflation. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that your new fleet of letter carrier vehicles is manufactured by Mercedes Benz. (I'd love to see how the bidding went on such a contract...)

I can have packages sent from all over the country and they make great time across the distances until they get to my local post office. Then they stall out. As in lingering in my local post office for a week. Delivery tracking gets marked "DELAYED IN SHIPMENT." It is not a delay in shipment, it is a delay in final delivery. You know it's there at the post offce, and you can't even go pick it up because they then claim that the package is out on the truck for delivery. Ridiculous...

Your taxes are the lowest I’ve ever heard. Holy cow. That’s less then the monthly grocery bill.

Probably because Mercedes makes a very reliable and widely used delivery vehicle. Few want to play in that space.

Do you really think the PO sends it?

I think they have to.

They rubber stamp it "Postage due $_____."

Whether the recipient pays it or not, I don't know. I never leave a return address.

got a nasty note from my carrier telling me stop putting Return to Sender on my junk mail and sending it back.

If it says “presorted standard” up where the stamp is supposed to be, it’s junk mail. Your carrier will take it back and throw it in recycling. That means, your name, address, and any pertinent information in there, is there for anyone to see. I suggest you shred your own mail. In today’s world, it’s much safer for you.

Christmas cards?...Birthday cards?...Sympathy cards?...I need stamps for all of these plus there are some bills that I have to pay by mail....

inflation is insane ....my car insurance...we've had to use my MIL's 2005 Subara legacy lately and State Farm wants $380 every 6 months which seems ridiculous for such an older small car....

I had to think about that for a minute. I stopped sending generic Christmas cards after my wife passed away over two years ago, and we weren't sending that many beforehand. I deliver local birthday cards by hand, and anyone not local gets an e-card, with appropriate gift card as needed. Sympathy cards are something I would mail, but there aren't that many deaths, a few a year for now.

Until the engine blew two weeks ago, I was driving a 2007 CX-7 which cost about $900 every six months from Progressive and that's bundled with the homeowners, and that was minimal; the replacement will certainly cost more.

I write letters as legacy. I have run across old letters from my grandma and mom and it is as if they are right there. I want to be in the future and have people find my thoughts and just daily life that changes over time. Nobody will toss an email in a drawer and run across it one day. People deeply appreciate getting real letters and it brings back a bit of humanity and grace. Please consider writing real letters as a way to preserve history and what regular life was like in this time.
