Spoiler Joe? Speculation grows Manchin might wage third-party challenge to Biden

An independent run by West Virginia senator would be reminiscent of Ross Perot's disruptive '92 bid.

Sen. Joe Manchin has been courting top-level political donors in recent weeks while remaining coy about running for another term representing West Virginia, stoking speculation he might wage a third-party challenge in the 2024 presidential race that could siphon Democrat votes from Joe Biden.

An adviser to major GOP donors told Just the News this week that Manchin recently spent time with some big name conservative funders,

"Joe Biden has gone so far to the left. And sometimes it seems like Sen. Manchin is all alone in the Senate, except when (Arizona Sen.) Kyrtsen Sinema occasionally joins him. But really there are five to seven other Democrats who feel just like him," the adviser said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was referencing private discussions. "He just has the courage of his convictions to drive his decisions."

"There are a number of conservatives who have spent time with Sen. Manchin. They were actually hoping he would switch to the Republican Party," the adviser added. "Now the Senator hasn't said this but it's been suggested by others that he might have (switched) if Mitch McConnell wasn't the GOP leader. An independent run might be the next best thing."

The aforementioned anonymous adviser isn't the only source pushing the idea of a Manchin for President campaign. Politico ran an article last month speculating about the West Virginia Democrat's future, stating that he still has time to make a decision on whether or not to make an independent run at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Manchin would certainly attract a lot of D voters who are disgusted or just screwed by the current D regime

But a return to a more normal political stance for the DemoCommieNazi party would seem
Unlikely. There’s just too
Much money behind the dnc and it’s current anti- American, destructive policies.

Correct.

There isn’t any member of Swamp Filth who is doing ANYTHING that isn’t pointed at stopping Trump. Every single maneuver of any kind that comes from Swamp Filth is anti Trump.

Policies DO NOT MATTER. Only the Swamp matters, and it will do anything to stop Trump, because it knows Trump now knows where the enemy is.

Repeat, Policies DO NOT MATTER. Only Swamp Creatures matter, regardless of their pretended policies.

Just do it!

He wouldn’t win, but he should do it. He can pick Romney as his VP to push for moderate “bi-partisanship”. Between the two of them they might pick up 3 or 4 electoral votes. I can’t think of from where, but odds are with them that they would pick up a handful.

I doubt the Democrats let him run 3rd party, and will find a way to prevent him if he does try.

BUT, if he did run and it was a competitive 3 way race, then the candidate with the HIGH-INTENSITY support wins. And that’s because it’s not possibly to effectively run a negative campaign against 2 opponents. Bush Sr. learned that the hard way.

So if Trump is in the race, he wins, not even close. If not, it will have to be some other Republican starting from scratch...may still win, but nothing would be assured.

“I think that after witnessing the catastrophe unfolding before our eyes daily in the Biden administration, a lot of never-Trump types who sat out the 2016 and 2020 elections may decide to turn out in 2024 for the GOP nominee, even if it’s Trump.”

LOL, can’t see Liz Cheney or that wing of the party EVER supporting Trump. Their vote is simply filled with SEETHING RAGE towards Trump (similar to the female Neocons who started the Ukraine War - simply cannot let go), so they’re not voting for Trump...they’ll simply rationalize their vote for Biden, or non-vote, by claiming things would be even worse under Trump

This is what happened in 1940. Businessmen drafted a life-long Democrat in Wendell Wilkie to run for the GOP against FDR.

Manchin is a fraud. He’s basically a sentient version of Biden.

If Manchin died, how would his replacement be chosen?

By the Governor of WVA or special election?

He could be putting out false rumors to make himself seem more independent from the Democrats than he really is. Then he will just run for reelection to the Senate.

From what I’ve seen of Manchin, he talks a good game, “standing up to the Dem libs”. But when crunchtime comes, after hem-hawing around for a little while, he folds and votes with the libs. If he actually was what he claims, he’d dump the Rat party. No, he’s a Rat at heart. JMHO.

RFK, Jr. has a speech impediment he quite honestly blames on years of heroin addiction. He quit heroin a very long time ago, so that’s a plus but his voice is strange. That said, he’s a far better, smarter candidate than Xiden and certainly more centrist.

Manchin is smarter than Joe too. Who isn’t? And time left for more hats to be tossed into the ring, probably some with flowers and veils. How about a nice tranny candidate?

I'm not talking about the never-Trump celebrity politicians - I mean the never-Trump GOP voters who didn't vote at all in 2016 and 2020 because they didn't want to vote for Trump. These folks have had a chance now to see what the alternative to Trump is, and some of them are likely to consider turning out in 2024. I know a couple of such voters.

When all has been said and still not done, yes, Manchin is unready to leave the Democrat-Socialists.

He’s nothing but a PHONY! He would only be doing this as BLACKMAIL against Biden to get something he wants!
