The Tennessee House of Representatives has voted to expel two young black Democrat members of the state legislature, a week after they joined a protest against gun laws, bringing a bullhorn onto the House floor amid a noisy demonstration.
Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, both 27, were joined in their protest on March 31 by Gloria Johnson, 60, a veteran member of the legislature, who is white.
Jones and Pearson were voted out of the House on Thursday: Johnson was not.
Asked why she avoided expulsion, Johnson - the only white person among the three - said it 'might have to do with the color of my skin.'
Until Thursday, only two people had been expelled from the Tennessee state legislature since the Civil War.
Joe Biden called the vote 'shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent'.
He tweeted: 'Three kids and three officials gunned down in yet another mass shooting.
'And what are GOP officials focused on?
'Punishing lawmakers who joined thousands of peaceful protesters calling for action.
'It's shocking, undemocratic, and without precedent.'
Jones said after the vote that it showed Tennessee was 'on a path toward authoritarianism', and his lawyers were analyzing whether the expulsion vote was legal.
'This should sound the alarm across the nation, that we are entering some very dangerous territory,' he said.

The WSJ had an article on the protests and resulting legislature’s actions, and actually reported the Democrat members were expelled for “speaking out of turn”.
I think the words “gun control protest” in the headline might be misleading here, although freepers seemed to understand the situation. The protesters wanted gun control, right? They were demanding gun control, not protesting against laws on the books.
So how many weeks will it take to remove ALL of the Demonrats?

Stupid party leaders likely thought they had the votes on all three and then a couple reps chickened out at the end. This is all resume enhancer for Democrats, anyway. The young guy will probably run for Congress now and win.
expelling them is NOT enough! they need to be treated EXACTLY the way the left treated the J6 protestors! (along with ALL the civilian protestors in Tennessee!)

Maybe the exclusion of the white woman was done with malice....with forethought, in order to achieve the unrest this will undoubtedly cause.......maybe.

He was charged in 2019 with assaulting Glen Casada, a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, by allegedly throwing a drink at him, and Casada later agreed to drop the charges. We have Many J6 people stuck in jail for what amounted to a guided tour of the Capitol in DC. It’s all on camera.
This was not. They were not let in, they forced their way in. This was planned and intended to disrupt, stop the business of legislation. The crowd was Not peaceful, chanting “No justice, no peace.” Their intent was/is to remove Americans rights.
You are correct, there will be blowback because of the unequal expulsion. There should also be arrests and jail time for all.

The article does not tell us that the white woman did not yell or use a bull horn like the other two did.

Nothing will change. The two expelled members can be appointed to temporarily fill their own expelled seats and then special elections will be held in their districts and they can be re=elected. Johnson didn’t grab the bullhorn so they took it easy on her. Naturally all three of them screamed RACISM immediately after the vote. All to this to cover up for the killer pretendaboy.

These two that got expelled called the legislature racists during the questioning before the vote. The White lady missed being expelled by one vote.
They say they had blowhorns in the gallery which is a lie. i saw the video of them standing at the podium on the floor with the blowhorn.
They planned this for a week and even told the supporters on twitter to go shut this place down until we get what we want.
Many more lies in this but can’t say i’m surprised. Imagine if anyone in congress had done this during the JAN 6 proceedings. Crazy libs.
