I used to attend an annual Christian conference in Central Oregon about a decade ago in late Summer. Flew into Portland airport and drove a few hours SE into the high desert region. Driving through Mt Hood National Forest was a breathtaking experience, including a visit to Timberline Lodge at the foot of the Mountain (The Shining setting hotel setting.) Sad that I'll never do that again until the left is finally vanquished.
